CRBN-2X Power Series Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle

More power is the name of the game with the CRBN-2X Power Series from CRBN Pickleball. Even though these are called the "Power Series," and they do offer up more power than CRBN's original lineup of CRBN-1 and CRBN-2 paddles, this is still a mostly control-oriented paddle which strikes a better balance on the "power vs. control" spectrum. This paddle boasts an 8" wide Toray carbon fiber face with a highly textured surface and 15.75" overall length. The 8 ounce weight, one-piece design, and injected-foam edge walls reduces energy loss, resulting in added power to your drives and slams. The enhanced sweet spot further increases control, and the grippy paddle face enables exceptional ball RPMs to deliver frustrating spin to your opponents.

For those unfamiliar with the CRBN paddle line, the CRBN-2X Power Series is a shorter and wider version of the CRBN-1X Power Series. Both are available in 14mm (0.55") and 16mm (0.63") thicknesses, and prioritize a control-focused play style, while leveraging new materials and manufacturing techniques to layer in a degree of power as the name suggests. The shorter and wider design of the CRBN-2X, however, combined with the 5" handle, foam-injected edges, and high-performance polypropylene honeycomb core, is able to create a giant sweet spot that offers unmatched control and feedback without sacrificing pop and power.

The CRBN-2X Power Series Carbon Fiber Paddle caters specifically to power players requiring a responsive paddle that can keep up with intense rallys and solid drives while providing feedback and placement like few others.

    Quality paddle, but not a lot of sweet spots and the ball hit soft, meaning I didn't feel the ball. Returned this item due to that reason.

    I got this as an incremental step up.from an amped Epic (which I loved as well). The X2 is the same shape, 2mm thinner, and has the raw carbon fiber. So far I have been crushing my drives and placement is intact. Also appreciate the 1 year warranty.

    I've changed paddles way more times then I care to admit and the CRBN 2X Is the first to actually deliver power,touch and spin...for real! Now I see the 3x is out,cant imagine it being better than the 2x ,should be fun to find out.

    Review of CRBN 2X 16mm The CRBN 2x 16mm pickleball paddle is a top-of-the-line option for players looking for a balance of power and control in their shots. Compared to the CRBN 2x 14mm, the 16mm version offers a slightly larger sweet spot, making it easier to generate power on shots like smashes and drives. However, the 14mm version has a bit more precision for touch shots like dinks and volleys. I would like to thank Pickleball Central for providing the paddles for this review. One of the things I liked most about this paddle is the comfortable grip. It allows me to have a very secure hold on the paddle, giving me more control over their shots. The overall weight and balance of the paddle also feels well-balanced, making it easy to maneuver during play. The length of the grip has definitely helped my two-handed backhand shots. Typically, I use a soft two-hand backhand to return serves deep to the baseline. With the CRBN 2x 16mm paddle, not only can I continue to make my soft backhanded shots but now I have noticed that I can hit backhanded drives with significant topspin similar what I used to be able to do during my tennis days. In addition, I have been able to make two-handed smashes which has not only impressed my partner and my opponents but myself as well. This paddle is best suited for a player trying to improve their all-around game. The combination of power and control makes it a versatile option for players looking to improve their shot-making abilities in all areas of the court. The CRBN 2x 16mm inspired confidence with shots like smashes and drives. The larger sweet spot made it easy to generate power on these shots while still maintaining control. Another player who used the paddle also commented on its comfortable grip and well-balanced weight. He also noticed an improvement in his power shots, saying that the larger sweet spot made it easier to generate more force on smashes and drives. If you're in the market for a high-quality pickleball paddle that offers a balance of power and control, the CRBN 2x 16mm is definitely worth considering.

    The CRBN 2X 14mm pickleball paddle is an impressive piece of equipment that exceeded my expectations in being able to “jump” into a new paddle so quickly. I have been using the Omega Evolution Extreme paddle by Engage for several months and didn’t know what to expect when switching to a new paddle. I want to thank Pickleball Central for providing the demo paddle and encouraging me to try something else in the land of pickleball equipment. I hope pickleball central will continue to provide me more opportunities to test out other items of interest The paddle's unique 14mm thickness gives it a solid, sturdy feel that I found to be very beneficial in shot making. The ball makes a different sound when hitting the ball compared to my Omega paddle. The sound is a higher pitch compared to the deeper pitch of my Omega paddle but the sound isn’t obtrusive in any way. It’s just different and that’s all to really make of it. One of the things I liked most about this paddle was its ability to generate power without sacrificing control. The paddle's generous sweet spot, combined with its well-balanced weight distribution, made it easy to generate a lot of power on my shots without losing precision. The grip of the paddle was also comfortable and provided a good amount of tackiness, which helped me maintain a solid grip during play. Perhaps it was because the paddle was new and therefore the grip was new, but I felt that there was a little too much tackiness on the grip where my hands started to sweat a little. I think overtime, a little of the tackiness will dissipate and the grip will feel like a glove. I think this paddle is best suited for a player trying to improve their power game. The paddle's thicker profile and balanced weight distribution make it perfect for generating power on shots like smashes and drives. Additionally, the paddle's sweet spot and solid feel inspire confidence when taking these types of shots. Another player who used the CRBN 2X 14mm paddle with me, said that she felt that this paddle was great for control and touch shots. She found it easy to place the ball precisely on the court with this paddle and it was very responsive to her touch. Overall, the CRBN 2X 14mm pickleball paddle is a great choice for players who want to improve their power game without sacrificing control. I would highly recommend giving it a try.
